i aint knockin your mates, but i ll believe it when i see it i thought matt hardwick was gonna be heaving with all the hype...
Yeah but Promise Vs GG was on the next day. It depends how attractive other things on offer are really...
TBH Shaun Sheffield is wank these days, I was reading the clubbing guide last weekend and there was Tim Delux. For the whole city that was the only good (well known) dj playing Friday or Saturday. Look back a couple of years and I can remember weekends when you would of had PVD, Judge Jules, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, Grooverider, Scratch Perverts, Cj Mackintosh + whoever that was on at somniacz (not mentioning a whole load of top notch ressies). How times have changed.
Exactly, why the fuck do you come on the promise message board if you never ever go to promise, please enlighting me. We do not need fucking prick's like you coming on our board and talkng like that about our club when you don't even fucking come. We do not need your type on here, your critisim is not even constructive. Who the fuck do you think you are anyway's.
On the point that the scene in Newcastle is not very old, Shindig has been around for ten years, and while not a superclub is very well known around the country. Other clubs have been around for a while too, such as Nice (about 9 years I think) which was well known and loved in its heyday.
your wasting your time on here if u dislike clubbing and promise so much. why even bother, no1 is guna listen to what u have to say, and i doubt any1 cares much either. the stuff ure saying doesnt make sense, and persnoally, to me, it doesnt matter much. u obviously dont have a clue what ure going on about, and to say richard sounds like a bedroom DJ proves that. how about you come back to promise, give it another try, or how about you dont come back, ever, get back to ure baja and leave us "real" clubbers alone.
Newcastle has a tough job of shaking off the image of the 'stag-do destination' Most of the larger clubs , as previously stated all go for the safe market - the 'Chart music' briggade with their "2 bottles for the price of 1" offers, lasses with their tits out and charvs in their Ben Shermans and Rockports. It's tough for the 'proper' clubs to get established and draw wider audiences from further afield cause people only see whats been portrayed in the media as 'Newcastles nightlife' - i.e. the bigg market, getting wankered, Ba-Ja Beach Cluc (jjeessususss), throwing up, fights, etc. IMO thats why it draws a local crowd - cause the people from the area know where to go and what Newcastle really has to offer. Most of the people going out in the town on a friday are out to get hammered as fast and as quickly as possible, have a laugh and pull. There's nowt wrong with that - it's just not ideal for the club scence to flourish. The 'proper' clubs do ok, but it's hard for them to make a name for themselfs. I must admit, thats what i thought up till 2 1/2 years ago b4 i discovered Reverb & Promise and was 're-born' to clubbin.
Shaun's got a point. Alot of it is also do to with some of the smalled mindedness that gets posted on the message board too. If you're not in the 'in-crowd' and all that... people can be put off.
Good point. Rezurection was in it's heyday 10 years ago. Names like Carl Cox, Grooverider, Prodigy, Shades of Rhythm, N-Joi. (don't laugh, they were top names at the time). It's just that the scene didn't seem to build on the success of these nights. And I'm hoping Promise is gonna put that right.
I think you have a very low self-esteem & seem to be lacking confidence in yourself. When you go out just concentrate on you having fun and dont worry about the bigger picture
