    Anyone play golf on here that can recommend any public courses?

    Dieing for a swing what with the Open on.

    marty plays craig. think he said that the best he'd been to round the ne was longhirst. bit of a hike for u tho innit? its by morpeth if ya wondering.

    dont play golf but i heard arcot hall is meant to be good, seems a bit posh though.

    Beamish has a canny course. Heworth is OK too but considering it's council owned I reckon the £15 round fee is a bit much.
    That's if yer any good.
    If, like me, you have an aversion to slicing wildly off the first tee with everyone watching (then again Tiger did it (twice!)) Beggars Wood Pitch n Putt is canny up Lobley Hill.
    And before anyone says, NO it's not crazy golf with windmills n stuff. It's 9 par 3 holes.

    nar, not me. i got mi 1 iron and hoofed it into that playing field next door, trying to take out one of the kids playing footie.

    One at consett isnt that bad, very hilly tho, failing that, theres always Slayley Hall near hexham.
