Toon Squads V Sheff Wed & Hartlepool (1/8/03)

IF YOUR GOING TO QUALITY MAKE SURE YOU FIND OUT THE SHEFF WED V NEWCASTLE SCORE FIRST!! IF ITS A WIN FOR THE TOON FIND MARK DEAKIN & TELL HIM THE SCORE!!! HE MUST KNOW!!!

Having earlier confirmed they would split the
first team squad into two for the Friday double-headers away to SheffieldWednesday and Hartlepool United,Newcastle have been true to their word and in the process doubtless infuriated somefans who had forked out for a night at Hillsborough in the expectation of seeing thecream of our crop:

    v Sheff Weds (17)Steve Harper,Adam Bartlett,Robbie Elliott,Stephen Brennan,Titus Bramble,Steven Taylor,Aaron Hughes,Andy O'Brien,LeeBowyer,Bradley Orr,Jamie McClen,Lomana LuaLua,Hugo Viana,Kieron Dyer,Shola Ameobi,Calvin Zola,Carl Cort

    v Hartlepool (19)Shay Given,Tony Caig,Adam Collin,Andy Griffin,OlivierBernard,Steve Caldwell,Gary Caldwell,JohnnyWoodgate,Peter Ramage,Nobby Solano,Gary Speed,Clarence Acuna,Jermaine Jenas,Brian Kerr,Craig Bellamy,Alan Shearer,Michael Chopra

However the fact Sir Bobby is in charge at Hillsborough on Friday may point to the fact that the game against the Owls is slightly more serious, the larger squad John Carver takes to 'Pools pointing to perhaps greater squad rotation and cameo appearances from one or two of our big names as has been the case at the likes of Gateshead in recent seasons.

Not bad. After all it's only what Sunderland will average this season:p

I have only ever been to one H'pool game. It was acouple of seasons ago and it was against Carlisle. 2-2, they equalised in the last minute, can you remember it?

After the game when we were walking away the score from Elland Road came in and the Toon had won 2-0:D
