Speaker positioning is very important and acoutics of the room play a vital role also. Richard Long http://www.discostepbystep.com/richard_long.htm built the Paradise Garage system and was reputated to be the best.
There is a case study about it at: http://www.acoustilog.com/disco1.html

B&S at Vinyl had an amazing system. Unfort B&S has now closed and the building that housed Vinyl (changed it name to ARC last yr) is being sold off for a cool $18m http://sinvin.com/listings/view.php...d&dir=ASC&category=investment_property&from=0

Club Shelter in NYC has a phazon system that sounds really nice!

Maybe the sounds system is actually a great soundsystem, but for trance its just not right, dont know whether thats the set-up or watever? but vocals, they just sound crap, esepcially when Richard Tulip played the Oceanlab - Beautiful Together the vocals sounded awful, and in quite a few tracks i noticed how some of the melodies werent coming through like they should do, jst being overpowered and it is even difficult to recognise some tunes that should just come to you like that....in conclusion it might be fantastic for techno/progressive, but for trance it isnt exactly wonderful! imo they need to either change the set-up or turn it down a tad!

prob becos the decibel level in a proper club are raised 'slightly' higher than ur average pub, and the music exerted by these systems contain a lot more extreme frequencies
