I don't believe in diets but then again I don't have to. I'm skinny and I eat healthy cos me dad's a diabetic and controls his blood sugar with his diet. I am gonna start going to the gym again though cos Im putting on weight. I don't think I'd ever go on a diet. I couldnt cope without proper portions of good food
i was on it for a wee bit..just a week, cos i got a kidney infection and had to drink cranberry juice to flush it out and i wasnt supposed to have ne fruit juices during induction...might give it another go tho...got a stone to shift!

No I wont cos Im gonna start going to the gym before I pile the pounds on. Ive seen what happens to everyone in our family and if I sit on my arse and do nowt I'll not be skinny anymore
The only diet that works is the class A diet failing that then not eating like a pig and doing a tiny bit of exercise works wonders..... there's ppl at my work drive 400yds to the sarnie shop then come back with a full fat sandwich and a diet coke stupid fucks
women are so stupid when it come to diets. they will do any diet that means they can still eat whatever thye want, and do no exercise! diets are easy, eat better, and less, and run more!
Its like that at mine - they have shit load of fatty foods and then think its ok to have Diet coke :spangled: Course it is

i know someone who's on the aitkens diet.....i lost more weight by eating smaller amounts & more healthy foods than than they've lost on the aitkens diet!!
Couple of the guys in work have done it and they lost loads of weight but don't look healthy. They lost the weight too fast and did not exercise to support the loss. They used to sit at dinner eating steaks, bacon, sausages and pound it away. It cost them a fortune as well. If you want to lose weight get to the gym, or change your lifestyle so your doing more walking etc... also don't fill your fat faces with fatty foods at every given chance. Being FAT is just being LAZY and poorly disciplined. There's no excuses, unless your Rik Waller and your big boned . If you REALLY want to lose the weight you will, the Atkins diet or any other diet is not the answer.
the diet is a load of shite me mother did it for two weeks lost a fair bit of weight but was sop tired and moody from not getting the right balance between carbs and protein that she nearly chucked me styep father out of their house . You dont need to eat less to loose weight you just need to make sure you burn off the fat with exercise..... oh and try and resist the munchy buzz when ya a bit:chill: takeaways and then sleep not a good combo for fitness freaks
dieting a load of crock..... if you're "big boned" then feed ya bones less, if you've got a "slow" metabolism get off ya fat arse and do some exercise ever notice that ppl in poor countries are usually skinny and rich countries (i.e. the west) have the fattest ppl
atkins is bullshit, you lose weight cos your carb store in your muscles are depleated... an it cannot be sustained for a long time, so when you bring carbs back into your diet the stores are replenished, so you put the weight back on... also it's high in fat so it promotes alscerosis (sp!) so it fukks your heart/cardio system up... the only safe an surefire diet is simply a healthy diet that you can sustain indefinately an regular exercise, cos the only way to lose weight is if your energy expenditure exceeds your energy intake... end of. so get on a treadmill fatties!
I lost weight on the Atkins diet :spangled: Was on & off it for bout 5 weeks and lost around 2 stone, which gave me a kick up the arse to start doing more exercise, and eating healthier, and I lost more It aint bad for a short period, it's just not a long term diet. It's not aimed as a long-term diet, people are just lazy, and would rather stay on it for ages than do some exercise
The reason it makes your breath smell is because Ketogenic diets (which is what Dr Atkins put his brand name on - its not a new thing) create ketone bodies, which are what are burned for fuel as opposed to glucose in a regular diet. Ketone bodies are excreted through urine, and to some extent - the lungs, which is why your breath smells a bit dodgy. Its nothing a 25p packet of Extra wont fix though. ----- The people who say "oh i lost a load of weight then put it back on, are usually the people who yo-yo diet and think a diet is a quick fix excuse to drop weight quickly, and then think they have a green card to binge drink/eat. In addition to this the first thing your body INITIALLY drops on a ketogenic diet is water retention, which is why people usually go on about how they lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks on the diet... no you didnt, it was 2 pounds of fat and 8 pounds of water retention. When you go back to eating salt and other junk foods your body sucks all that old water back up which is why people think they suddenly put a load of weight on - when all they put on was water retention mainly (to begin with) - Drinking alot of water daily is the way to cut out water retention.
