    anyone else seen this?

possibly one of the most boring films i have ever had the misfortune to see! very well made, good acting, great imagery... but so so dull!

deffo not reccomended... total waste of time... first time ive ever seen anyone walk out halfway thru a film.

    turd.

Saw it Monday night, thought it was excellent :king:

Definitely not your typical Seagal/Willis/Cruise hollywood blockbuster but all the better for that. It was class :D

Was a class film. Much better than any hollywood 700 billion rom com!

it wasnt meant to be a 'hollwood blockbuster' or '700 billion rom com' so to say its good because of that is tosh and totally missing the point...

as i said extremley well made, very good cinema.. it just sent me to sleep, could have been a great film, the 'culture shock' theme could have been played on more... i did like the feeling of isolation created but was just left feelin as if no more had happened at the end of the film than at the start...

    which isnt good.

I think you're missing the point... nothing happened in the film apart from them both being "lost" in Tokyo until they met each other....the film was about them and their relationship from there on, but nothing actually happened

The "culture shock" was done fine I thought, it didn't have to be obvious

My flatmates said it was really good, they are culture vultures so I am dubious about some of what they like... I would see it purely for Bill Murray :)

Aye really bad film. Fuck culture - if its shit its shit - and this was shit.

Bill Murray is always brilliant but this did him no justice at all.

Saw this the other day.. thought it was ok..

The acting was pretty good, storyline was pretty dull, some funny bits though..

I can understand why its got bafta nominations.. as a film it was well "shot" and was kinda arty in my opinion..

it was a waste of time because despite being brilliantly made, as si put it - 'nothing actually happened' ;) :p everyone else imediatley jumped on me and started saying 'you wouldnt like it cos it wasnt a action blockbuster blah blah film' when they no f.a. about what i like...

seemed a bit pathetic that people used the 'just cos it didnt cost 700m' argument to defend what was imo a less than interesting film...

your 'excluding' yourself from these 'must see blockbusters' ??? if a film looks good - go and see it... you make it sound as if you wouldnt see a film on the basis its mainstream or has been successful? who cares! if a films good its good.. there are plenty of 'big' films that require thought...

    lifes to short! :)

I was bored to tears by this film. I couldnt wait for it to end.

Im not a film fan at all and 'Lost...' did nothing to overturn that.

Ive said its shit, and I beleive this to be a pretty accurate description of the film.....

.....however, if it's causing this much debate and invoking such strong opinions, then obviously it is very much worth talking about and does have something going for it.
