    Good Tory Idea !

    Test call for migrants

    NEW migrants should be forced to have health checks and English language courses before getting residential rights, a senior Tory said last night.

    Arrivals should not get benefits and should have to pass education tests to show they are capable of earning £25,000 a year.

    And police should enforce zero tolerance for those who overstay.

    The clamp call comes in a report to Shadow Home Secretary David Davis, which bluntly claims: “Britain is full.”

    Its author, ex-immigration minister Timothy Kirk-hope, says: “Our island nation is not like America in the 1880s, with uninhabited land to settle.”

    Hmm, the Home Office has already introduced that at the end of last month - they must be able to speak english to ESOL Level 3. Problem is, there's nowhere to take the exam or assess it. Is a good way to massage the figures 'bout the backlog though.

    MOS, 1. the bogus asylum seekers can fuck off, we don't need any waster scroungers... that goes for home grown ones as much as the incoming. 2. As a wealthy civilised western country we have a humanitarian obligation to offer a safe haven to people persecuted in other countries. 3. We'd all be much better off with less useless charva smack rats breeding all over the fuckin place and more genuine immigrants who are prepared to work harder and do shittier jobs than some of the useless homegrown "talent" we have who think they're owed a living off the state

    oasis, bo i wouldn't let just anyone in, but shipping out people who don't meet the criteria would be a good idea

    My sentiments exactly.

    I'm not sure what to do about the immigration 'issue' - i dont believe in an open door policy just as much as a closed door one either, but its the hate campaigns that are run by the right wing media that really get me. I'd love to see 'Wife Swap' but done with a nice white middle britain family shipped off to some warzone somewhere - then maybe a few perceptions about our responsibilities as a more civilised and safe country are.
