Telewest... what a bunch of nobs! the top end of chillingham road 'doesnt have cable'.. this is THE main road thru heaton.. wtf??? :spangled: plebs.
tossers!!!! we have to have a bt phoneline.. which is a stunning £17 a month on top of the broadband..... is that the same for wanadoo? limits?
BT Phoneline - £10.50 per month kidda. Mines limited to 2gig a month and is £16 or something, thats enough for me, unlimited is about £20, they have excellent customer service.
AOL is 1mb connection, no limits, free customer service, no charges, free modem and installation... for £29.99 a month + £10 for BT line... whats your connection jimeh?
I used to work for Telewest and if it's not cabled then they didn't/cannot obtain the permission to lay the cable. This could be from private residents or simply from the local council. If they can't get 100% backing for the laying of the cable then the rules say they can't do it eg. a street of 28 houses. 27 say yes and 1 says no then it can't be done. Shit but true.
my internet at home has been fuckd fro about 5mnth. yet me mam is still payin the £28 per mnth or summit. :spangled:
this is CHILLINGHAM ROAD ffs... its not like its windy nook lane or something, how does cable go round the country if not under A roads? im gonna brick every fucking window on chilli road later
Half meg mate, Wanadoo do 1meg but I aint sure of the price, 1meg would be too much for me, it would be a waste of money. I've been told that AOL are shit, they use their own browser or something instead of IE. Probs just pub-talk tho.
I hear your pain mate. Lost count of how many times I heard the same sort of story. I usually got the abuse from the unhappy-chappies like your good self
Yeah, i'm really happy with what I have, if I have any problems they're straight on the case sorting it out, I've only had one little problem and it wasnt even their fault although they did help me sort it
Tbf they're much better now then when I started with them when I can only class their operation as a bit of a farce! Mother-in-law's just had the TW installed and the installers were two of the nicest lads I'd ever met... clearly they'd never rang em when I was in customer services
