    10 New Clubs!

Sheffield promoters, Gatecrasher have announced a five-year expansion plan costing £15 million and kicking off with the unveiling of their £1.5 million refurb of the club's spiritual home, Republic. Now renamed Gatecrasher One it launches September 2.

In accordance with the big plans ahead, the brand has also reunited its successful partnerships with heavyweight advertising agency, Team Saatchi to reposition the Gatecrasher brand name.

Gatecrasher One will launch Gatecrasher's Signature Sound System, which has been specially designed and supplied exclusively by Opus with Ostrich skin finished boxes. Their “technical partners”, Vestax, have also specially designed exclusive equipment for all the DJ booths. Their infamous Gatecrasher nights, are now re-packaged and renamed "Crasher" and are set to continue as a regular feature at the venue

Gatecrasher founder and MD, Simon Raine says: "Gatecrasher One will be the first in a series of ten unique signature led nightclubs that will become synonymous with high quality.”

The company, which also owns Sheffield’s Bed venue, is said to be looking at several sites in major cities across the UK for the other nine units including Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, Glasgow, Bristol, Liverpool, Cardiff, Newcastle and Dublin. It is envisaged that the second of the ten units, will be launched within six months of the flagship club being opened.

Thought this would be the plan. Might b hard moving into cities with established clubs, thought abroad would be a more likely way to go

    Newcastle needs a new club.

When i came to uni up there was dead disapointed with the clubs after going to sheffield 4 ages....

Foundation is dead good but would be mint if Newcastle opened a massive club dedicated to soemthing more than just shitty cheese.

Might open the scene in the north east up a bit....at the minute house music is barely even exsistent past leeds!

So when i came up to the toon expecting 'the 6th best nitelife in Britain' or whatever it was i was quite disapointed to find very little choice in music bar cheese and indie.

It's really irritating cos ppl talk about going out 'clubbing' to baja n blu bambu....thats not clubbing!!

people need to be educated....fair enough if cheese is your bag but a decent club of decent size 4 would be much better.

preferably without all of that tat stuck 2 the walls...like fuckin plastic sharks....puhlease!

Yeah, fair point and I was thinking that too. But hopefully a new club will make new 'clubbers'. With no choice people who don't like Foundation just go to the shit clubs.

I'm not gonna lose any money over it so I hope it happens.

With your Gatecrasher connections you would have to be in running for any promoter or venue manager jobs.

this is mainly because newcastle as a city isnt the largest therefore isnt many nights because not everyone can go to all the nights to keep em going. and getting half full every week just isnt enough for nights to become successful as many have tried and failed in the past. whereas shindig (11years) and promise(nearly 4) have pulled the crowds and now its almost impossible to release this stranglehold much to the delight of the shindig boys and Mr Deakin. :D :D
