Impressive technology, seems a bit gimmicky for me though. Easier just to use a controller surely? Potential is there though! The idea of an event where everyone can control something is interesting, although there'll always be one tard that fucks the job up.
There are tons of people with these 'proof of concept' videos on youtube. I set it up on my Macbook Air last week using my IPad and Touch OSC to control traktor and Modul8 .... the hard part is having the balls to actually play out live using this kit.
I'd rather use 'touch' devices to control things where precise input is not mission critical. So for using VJ software it would be great, cause you are not going to look like a muppet if your timing is off. For something where i want to make split second decisions and control or something, then having to worry about my touchpad not working cause i've just taken a sip out of a can of redbull with condensation on the side .......... i'd rather not risk it.
