IMO its going to a good tool for social workers and will save time chasing round when anon referrals are received. On a number of occassions an allegation of physical abuse is reported but minimal information in order to pinpoint the child. If its going to give this info quicker so further checks can be done b4 a visit is made to get any history then its going to be a worthwhile database. Hopefully it will also help professionals to make decisions quicker so they can spend more time 'knocking on doors' protecting children. There was a similar database trialed a couple of years ago and that was shit hot on security so fingers crossed this will be the same. Im taking a lead around this being implemented in Gateshead so shall see first hand if its goin to be any good!!

We'll be getting the use of this at work. It's only available to registered users and is very closely monitored. Reports of every individual's usage will be sent to their management team monthly and closely scrutinised, misuse of the system can lead to a jail sentence.

The whole point in this is to show which professionals each young person is working with, enabling them to contact one another and the system will promote information sharing between professionals to prevent more children dying as a direct result of not doing so!

it's the easy way for the government to start to keep total surveillance on everyone. Start with the kids.. they can't complain. When they get to 18 it will be easy to think of very good reasons (efficiency, security, fighting crime etc etc) to keep it going. At the start 390000 people will have access to it "but it will be very secure"
within 10 years every minor official and petty bureaucrat will have access to every detail of our private lives. We'll all be in the big brother house for life.
welcome to the brave new world.
think how efficient it will be
think how safe we'll all be with the government looking after us.

Once you start chipping the children for their 'protection', you will have your entire population under constant surveillance within a generation.

RFID chipping will be the 'solution' for all the hype and fearmongering in the media. Why do you think we get Baby P and Madeline McCann shoved in our face every five minutes. The same with stabbings, murder and whatnot ..... Eventually the public will sleepwalk like docile cows into having every facet of their lives monitored, blindly believing that being trackable, traceable and being on a database somewhere is going to stop evil people from being evil.

.... A 'terrorist attack' or whatnot every few years will make sure people are constantly on their guard and stampeding like cattle towards more and more control
