I have been using a Mac which has a program called 'Transmitter' where files from Isohunt/Piratebay go directly into, before being downloaded to use on to open/use on your PC.

I am now using a desktop PC, and would like to know what the best free downloadable program is to download these torrent files.

By 'best' I mean, something that is easy to use, does not disrupt any internet settings be replacing/adding toolbars, etc, and can be used primarily for music and films.

    Thanks

They're not as common as PCs, simply because Macs are used less and there's less viruses kicking about. Thats changed recently, and as they're becoming more and more popular, there's more in the way of nasty shite doing the rounds.

Take the same precautions as you would on a PC and you'll probably be fine
