    dumb question

I only ever worked with Macs so don't know the answer to this and people keep telling me different things - if you have a PC and an MP3 player (not iPod) can you use iTunes? and will the player play stuff downloaded from the ITunes store?
You didn't use to be able to, but did it change when iTunes became DRM free?
And where are good places to legally download music from apart from iTunes if you are looking for the kind of stuff 11 year olds want?

No and yes. Itunes doesn't work with other MP3 players as far as I know, but any purchases from the iTunes store can be made in MP3 form, so any MP3 player should play them.

There are tons of other sites, but I'm not sure how many of them still force DRM onto their customers. If HMV digital no longer has DRM it's worth a look as it works with Windows Media player (and that works with pretty much every MP3 player).

    thanks.
I've shamelessly pirated your answer to make me appear more knowing than I am. Credibility is all with 11 year olds.
