I'm not sure like, there were repeats of Madagascar, Strange World and mebbies one or two others, but i was in there basically the whole night and it was only played once, my only complain other than the repeats was that the sound system was far too loud. The production value of the whole night was excellent but my ears are STILL ringing, it could literally have been 40% quieter as far as i was concerned, other than that tho, was unbelievable! :-D

I never even heard Strange World! I must have been at a different classics night!
If they had played Silence and Carte Blanche too it would have been completely perfect:D

Normally I can be found skulking about dark corners of Promise, whinging about the 'glory days of trance'

On Sun I didn't leave the dancefloor for about three hours, and even shed a few nostalgic tears at one point.

At top tunes, no filllers, and none of this 'educating the audience and taking them on a journey crap'

It just pisses me reet of when DJs/wannabes say that.

I go to college 6 hours a day, 4 days a week to get educated.

At the weekend I want to have a dance, have a laugh and party.

What makes them think that their set, usually pretty dull, will provide insight into my life?

    OOOO that feels better!

agree with some of that. agree that sometimes it is great when the DJ just bangs out top tunes everyone knows n everyone loves it. i agree that 'educating' the audience is a load of bollocks as well.but as for taking the crowd on a journey bein a loada shit, i dont really agree. maybe taking the crowd on a journeys a bit far fetched but at the end of the day a set does has to have structure, personally i dont think you can just bang out a loada tunes you like in any order n it will sound good. dont wana start off another argument about jules, BUT the times i've seen him, thats all he does, theres no structure at all and its just totally random. maybe some ppl like it that way, but i think alot clubbers appreciate how a DJ can work the crowd with the tunes he plays, and in what order

probably gona get a slatin off you now, just my opinion :)

Yes build a set up, for the purposes of whipping the crowd up and getting us to dance, but 'taking someone on a journey'?

    Pretentious IMHO

yea maybe takin them on a journey is a bit much. but i mean you can do alot more with a set than just build it up, you can take it in a few different directions n ppl still dance n hav a good time

a mix of the best old and new is the way forward. Play stuff that people will like, and stuff they haven't heard but might like :)

    that way everyone wins.

At the end of the day I could list a good few songs I would have incorporated into that night, but that doesnt really matter when you consider that just about every tune was amazing! They just needed another hour of trance on the end to fit the rest of it in!! :D For me that was about as good as a night could get! :D
