is it ok to... take out a cd writer out of a pc if the power is turned off.. or do i have to get a guy out from sumwhere?... im fik as fuk i know
Tis fine, you just need to remove the power, sound and data cables. If you are putting it into another pc you will need to make sure that the slave/master settings are right or it will not work. Do you need info on that?
What rob said ..... its no different from changing a standard CD-ROM But one thing, is it a SCSI CD Writer or an IDE ?
*silence* ive got alevels and part of a degree in computer type stoof.. but i dont know shit.... unis mint.
Does it just have a standard IDE cable (usually grey) running out the back of the CD Writer and onto a port on the motherboard ? If so then its an IDE If a cable comes off the CD writer and connects to an add on card then it will be a SCSI !!
hehehe Its more than likely going to be an IDE Drive, luckily for you it will be easier to swap over !
