    Suggestions?

I agree they're all starting to become very alike...same DJ's, same music policy (i.e., house--trance--techno), etc...

The problem is you try to do something different and others just do the same. I think we've probably been going longer (regularly) than any other local "small" night in the area.

 @ bird....if we played breaks/prog we wouldn't be a trance night (well actually we've been having a bit more prog @ Vuzz lately, Graham our new resident plays prog!).

John I'd love to book you guys more (I have you down for the 30th July!) - the fact is that electro wouldn't work @ Vuzz. When I picked up the pieces of Vuzz that Lee left behind the night was a mess. I think one of the key things in turning it around was giving the night more of a focus - i.e., trance (bringing it back to its roots).

It's worked really well and if you're doing something right keep doing it!

    BTW, loved the CD! :king:

Music policies restrict a night too much imo, if you dont have a music policy and experiment with different djs and sounds then you cant be called samey.

Experimenting with different sounds and dj's will inevitably get you more people through the door that otherwise wouldnt have bothered.

    Re: SPENCE

It is because you have pushed Mark about his event. Mark is really nice bloke & he always treat me really well. He is as protective of his night as you are of yours.

    LIVE & LET LIVE MAN!!!!!!

    Where is the love:love:

    Paul,

big respect for continuing Vuzz after the mess you said you were left with.

However one small point, we (detox) are a samll night and been running since August 2001.

Vuzz started April'ish 2002 , after Sunday trading and Detox were hosting gigs in Egypt Cottage (FACT)

my perspective on why everything is samey is that all of the dj's at the local nights are guesting at every one elses nights
and the nights run too often, so people get the same thing weeky or fortnightly.

You are quite right though, as soon as anyone does anything different everyone else copies it and that kills it.

All of the small nights should come together and put on a massive gig, that would rival the current big boys (just a thought)

Glad to see Che is back with you lot!!!
