Lost youth I shake my head when I read of kids like this. How can someone not have a day off from school in ten years? Being off school was a part of growing up for me. It was usually when the house was unattended (admittedly she was at the shops buying lucozade, pop, crisps, pies and other special requests I made to make me better), and the old internet porn got hammered. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nort...s-they-re-the-great-attenders-72703-20623073/
Stephen, 17, said: “I once broke my collar bone at school playing football, but I just went to hospital and then back to school........... I think it’s really important to have a good attendance record because I’m more likely to get a good job.” oh god. what have they done to him
saying that like i had perfect attendance at my school for 4 years. it filled in the afternoon nicely since at that age your not able to drink/smoke/take drugs without being thought a problem.
I was partial to the odd fortnight off like, on the basis that i tidied up and helped me mam out. It was spot on to cos she would go out in the morn and id get up totally tidy everywhere then just sit in me room what was a dump all day and play on the SNES or Amiga, few times others were off we would get pissed n what have ya and i even got caught at Newcastles old Durham training ground once
if someone broke a collar bone they would not be alowed into school, i broke me leg once and had to be off cos it was a risk incase i fell over or somet. i hit me mate in the balls with me crutches when i finally got back like so i think they must have meant i was the danger
I had a perfect record until I got given a detention in the last week before the summer holidays. No other teachers made anyone do work in that week and the worst thing was that I'd actually done the work. After that I turned into a right little cunt.
I regularly bunked off school, did no school work and managed to do all my exams with about 2 weeks revision. ... ditto for university, where i turned up for about 5 lectures in my third year, and just scraped a 3rd class honours degree out of the jaws of a near total fail. Theres no real point to this post, but i felt the need to share it anyway.
