For some unknown reason several icons have made their way to the bottom right end of the task bar on my desktop, which I do not use. I have can close the applications down, but they return when I re-start the computer, meaning I have to shut them down again to avoid the applications taking up memory.

Please can someone help me to advise on how these can be shut down permanantly, and the taskbar icons being removed permanantly.

    Thanks

Click start and then run and type msconfig then goto the startup tab. Untick the relevant items, apply then reboot.
    Should sort it out.
