No spag doesnt affect someone's intelligence. The point i was trying to make is that Spag is, for the most part something we have instinctively, we KNOW when a sentence doesnt sound right.
So, SPAG comes from instinctive knowledge as opposed to learned knowledge, therefore you need more than learned knowledge in order to pass an exam.

    :D

have you ever heard a charva speak? they must have heard normal people talking but they don't have the intelligence to work out simple sentence structure. They need to be taught how to do it properly, then they will have the knowledge

Don't make me post it a third time!!

    IT'S NOT AN INSTINCT!!!!!!!

we know it automatically cos we have been told/taught/used it often and it becomes a reflex like action...

a spanish child who is not taught english will not even know about simple spag, so how can it bwe an instinct! :spangled:

if instincts are something that we jus know, and are not taught, then it would make a differance what language was involved...

i am purely pointing out that however you look at it, spag cannot be an instinct...

WE ARE NOT BORN KNOWING HOW TO SPEAK A LANGUAGE.

There is an instinct to communicate but that is it... Do you even know what the word instinct means? You said: " they will know whether a SPANISH sentence is right or wrong by instinct." that is complete bullshit, SPAG are conditions humans have created to make it easier to understand each other... It has fuck all to do with instinct.

Jesus christ - you are possibly the thickest little girl I have ever spoken to on here...

    FACT: You are not intelligent.

Let this be an end to your idiotic babbling.

I think this takes the cake as one of the thickest things ever said.

I don't understand how you can believe spelling and grammar are instinctive?!! and you say you're an english student?

How can they be instinct? our instincts have been honed over thousands of years of existence on this planet, for example, the instinct to hunt/gather has now become the instinct to shop for/provide for our families. What has this grammar instinct developed from? our instincts have been around longer than language itself.

I think you're mistaking instinct for mere habit. Once you have learned grammer (either from a teacher or from hearing people speak) you then know how to use it. You pick up on things that sound incorrect because you are in the habit of speaking properly, not because "man's primal grammar instinct" tells you so!

I did not say we are born how to speak a language....we are taught or pick up the basic words of a language. What does come by instinct is knowing whether something is right or wrong: if i said to you

    ''hot the weather is today''

even a child would know that was a wrong or silly representation of what u were trying to say.
Yes, we are taught how to form prose but still, right or wrong is mainly due to instinct.
