I don't believe we are born selfish - theres a difference between survival and greed, when ur born u'll fight for the tit - but this isn't cos ur programmed to be greedy its because your programmed to survive... I think greed comes with conditioning - we c those around us better off so we want to be them... If every1 was equal what would we be jealous of?

There are motivations in life other than money

exactly!!!why not have 2 doctors positions instead of just the one, then the NHS would be in a much better state!!

if people who move here from abroad are good doctors then they deserve the job!!it doesn't mean some english person cannot get one too!

What about the people in England who are unskilled, some people just arent made for education and simply arent clever enough to get exec jobs...so why shouldnt people from this country get the jobs...even if it is unskilled labour - if thats all their intelligence can handle why shouldnt people from this country have those jobs rather than immigrants?

for example, in boro, the majority of taxi drivers are asian, but the local population may complain about this and other positions filled my what they see as 'foreigners', even though half of them were born in Britain. These people should get themselves out of the smack den and get a job!

There must be easily 50 big issue sellers and homless people who beg and hang around on Linthorpe road all day and night, and every single one of them is white btw!!

But we're talking about the distribution of wealth - not intellect... why should somebody born prettier or wealthier be worth more money?

I wasnt talking about skilled foreigners...we need them to keep our infrastructure going. However, surely we dont need so many unskilled labourers who are immigrants when there are so many unskilled unemployed in this country already!

it is due to intellect that we can't be equal. even if people are paid the same, those with higher intellect will be involved in more stimulating and more rewarding jobs.

you can't base equality simply on moneteary terms, that is why communism fails.

where does the money come from to pay them though? take the example above, the NHS. If you create two doctor positions instead of the one, the government are putting up an extra wage, and getting back only a small percentage of it.

Communism doesn't just try to create an equal wealth though, it's all about having equal status. That's why they all call each other comrade, so no one person has a title higher than the other.

I don't see how that is any different from now - the motivation will still exist for better jobs - just the brick layer will get a good state education so probably has a better chance at becoming a doctor...

I'd happily half the defence budget and put that money into hospitals - their is no purpose to a miltary of our size...
