a bit off the subject of ireland- more to do with killing people.. but my brother has a very interesting theory as to why this country is going down the shitter....

i wouldnt be able to post it on here cos id be castigated, but it involves the length of time it is since we had a large scale war innvolving lots of troops

i hold my hands up, its not as bad as i thought it would have been

one of the actors went to school with me

still don't agree with the the fact the bbc has made this issue into 'entertainment'.

and just before anyone asks, northern ireland isn't like that all over.

what you saw did reflect the scum that you get in every major city, its just sad belfast scum have a political agenda to go with it, and feel they are doing 'their' comunity a favor.

this is roughly my brothers theory as to why this country is in such a state...

well his 'intelligent' opinion is that-

the last 50 years britain has gone into decline, the 'scum' (and im not reffering to a class distinction there) of the country have been allowed to dwell further and claim more from the state crime levels have risen etc. you get the general picture...

the last 50 years have been probably the most stable as far as in national security has been concerned, it is also a likley to be looking back through history the longest period of time in which there has been no war where large armies have been used (concerning the british isles)...

wars need men to fight in them (or at least they did) therefore consigning a large percent of the population to go off and fight for the country... this percentage would have more or less have been drawn from the group i labelled 'scum' earlier.. im trying to be pc (!) so ill leave that up to ur imagination which 'stereotype' i am getting at... many of the people went off to fight did not come back... therefore removing a percentage of 'scum' from the population and relieving the burden on the state, in a crude way - wiping the shit off the shoe...

so in brief - we need a large scale war to occur again so all the 'scum' are sent out to war to die

i understand this is a very very offensive, patronising way to put it and an all round offensive theory. I'm not saying i approve of it at all either.. etc... i just think its 'interesting'.

understand why i wasnt about to post this!

na, i agree, it defo happened in the 36th division case, the division was decimated, went over first wave, but incidently was made up of the UVF battalions based in belfast............the government got ride of one propblem, aledgedly

others in northern ireland were in the 7th inniskillings regiment , who fought in other battles...... with lesser percentage of casualties....i think....don't quote me tho
