Do you not think he's past it... Have to admit I'm surprised he has not been mentioned, now you mention him...he would risk tarnishing his past Leeds glories though... But would he have the necessary powers of motivation to get the Lads going again?
I wonder what would have happened if they had kept him. Before he fucked things up by turning into a media whore they had a great team, good team spirit also by the look of things. After the court case and results started to slide slightly he just could not stop havin a go at the players in the media, nearly every week he was soundin off, then he brought his book out which caused more shit, some of the media had it in for him by now but he would just not leave it, kept havin a go and slaggin people off. Then there's talk of how by this time he had "lost the dressing room"...then he kicks off at the board - his employers - for wanting to sell Mr Forgetfull. This combined with poor results - think he had to go.
fair enough give the bloke chance, but the team weren't behind him. Viduka wasn't even going to training because of him. none of the team had confidence in him - and it showed saturday. that was the final straw. if they'd put on a decent effort and still been beat - it might have been a different story, but they just didn't even have the confidence to fight. he had to go. i wonder if Hart will be the next manager - thats whos top of the list at the moment
O'Leary... said yesterday that it wasnt his fault as he spent £90million BUT £60million has been recrouped back, BUT the facts are -we're still paying wages to people who arent at the club, -we've got a shit team:spangled: (relativel to before) -we cant buy anyone becuase we gave him so much in compensation and to other greedy managers &players -going to have to sell more people for low cost -if he didnt get sacked we would still have had to sell the players YES i enjoyed his reign at the time but some of the plers he bought with hindsight were bad ideas on RIDICULOUS wages!!He hasnt done much at villa since he took over... i'm not saying he was shit just think he had lost the dressing room abit and started the slippery slope financially(ridsdales fault also) what we need is martin o'neil does he want a challenge?? george grahm back would be good but he doesnt want it paul hart and the rotherham manager would also be good..give eddie gray a chance for a few matches tho..see if he gets the best outnof viduka
Leeds should not have sacked Venables. Batty apart, he still had the total respect of the players, and they did want to play for him. I think Leeds position this season, shows that Venables was in fact doing a GOOD job last season by having them at around 13th/14th spot. A lot of people just didnt realise this at the time. They sacked him and dhad to pay loads of compensation. Replaced him with an inferior coach, and now they have to pay him compensation! Leeds just keep digging their own grave.
I've just noticed this, who the fuck is "Part Hard" Erm...make that Paul Hart One of the Express of the Mail recon Neil Warnock is gonna take the job. If Sheff Utd go up and he goes down with Leeds - how gutted will he be.
Mark Viduka Are the Leeds fans happy with the whole Mark Viduka thing? Dominec Matteo was interviewed and agreed that the players were mainly to blame for the poor form and Reid being sacked. I know if I were a Leeds fan I would not be happy supporting a player (especially financially) who only wants to play for the club on his terms. It's the third or fourth time the big freak has done this to either Celtic or Leeds and he's still playing football in this country. Players of his nature are what are ruining the game.
Re: Mark Viduka Soccer reporters in various papers and ex players of old always go on about how they don't show any passion or commitment for the team. But lets face facts, unless they have history with the team, moved up through the ranks etc., what's to really bond them with the club. It's just like a buisness these days, in the case of Leeds, they have a few players in on loan from abroad on good wages - are we to expect that they give a fuck - they know that once their contract expires they will be off. Why should Viduka care, he's on around 65k a week, he has no emotional attachment to Leeds and knows that he will be off to a bigger, better club in due time.
Re: Re: Mark Viduka It's the punters in the stadium with the bought and paid for white tops that pay his 65K. Players must have some scruples. He's as bad as Van Hooijdonk!! Would your manager in your job accept behaviour like his? Mine wouldn't, I'd be out the door. No one is bigger than the club, even with a noggan that size!
Re: Re: Re: Mark Viduka I'd say in the majority of other buisnesses he may well have been sacked. But I recon he just does not care and he knows that the club will bend over backwards to accomudate his needs. He's a football star with no doubt a very good agent, it will work out for him no matter what. Plus he's their best chance at survival, the buggers got them over a barrel
Re: Mark Viduka true but we need him... his goals what kept us up at the end of last season... was about 13 in 11games or something like that.. we need a manager who will motivate to performn similar acheivements (a hard task tho)!!!
Who would you like to see get the job Breakdown boy ???, i personally feel you need somebody no nonsense who will go in there and ruffle a few feathers maybe Neil Warnock, Paul Hart seems favourite but would he have that instant impact you definitley need ???
Re: Re: Mark Viduka All about survival for yous. I hope yous stay up but it's Smith or someone else that grabs the goals. I hope Viduka snaps his legs and never plays again.
Re: Re: Re: Mark Viduka I hope we sell him to you for 10million then he snaps his legs and never plays again
