This week's podcast features a splendid guest mix from one of the US of A's finest techno stalwarts, Steel Grooves.

Steel Grooves is the alter ego of Rex Bruton of Austin Texas USA. Rex began DJing in 1996 at the age of 15. Throughout this time, Rex has played the role of Promoter, DJ, Producer, and Label Owner. Capital Techno began as a DJ crew and eventually grew up to be a well respected label showcasing international techno artists.

Steel Grooves currently holds a residency at Kingdom [Afterhours] Nightclub in Austin Texas. 2nd Saturdays of each month alongside KROX FM Hypersonic Radio personality Jason Jenkins and 3rd Fridays with the CTR DJ collective.

Rex spends most of his free time running Capital Techno Recordings and producing music under multiple alias including Steel Grooves, Single Cell, Subforce (w Jeff F), Rex B, Groove Mekanics (w John Reyes).

To Rex Techno is a religion. With over a decade of experience behind the dex, Steel Grooves consistantly delivers a unique dancefloor experience that can exceed ones imagination. Through the Good Bad & Ugly Steel Grooves will always seek to spread the word of the underground. Creating new fans is a challenging but exciting way of life .Rex's mission as a DJ is to continue to push the boundaries of mixing and production while staying true to his sound. He could care less about the glamour that some DJs seem to thrive on. He prefers to let the music do the talking...

Electric Rescue is considered one of the leading lights in the electronic music spectrum in his native France, he is also a worldwide renowned artist. His music is regularly played by electronic music heavyweights including: Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Slam, Dubfire, Stephan Bodzin and John Digweed.He's had releases on labels like Cocoon, SCI+TEC, F Communications, Ideal Audio, Sleaze Records, Soma and Bedrock. In 2013 he released his debut album on Bedrock, to critical acclaim.


Electric Rescue has showcased his talents live globally for many years, venues including Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), Tresor (Berlin), The Edge (São Paulo), The Egg (Londres), Herr Zimmerman (Rotterdam), Air Club (Tokyo), Moog (Barcelona), also including festivals. Amsterdam Dance Event (Pays-Bas), 3rd Empire (Israël), Astropolis (France), Noisily (Angleterre), Piknic Electronik (Canada), Mapping Festival (Suisse), Nördik Impakt (France).

Electric Rescue also owns Skryptom Records, a very successful record label based in France with collaborations from the likes of Mark Broom, Laurent Garnier, Scan X, Maxime Dangles, Umek, Popof, Julian Jeweil and The Hacker to name a few.

Rex Club Paris is Electric Rescue's spiritual home, where he holds a special Skryptöm residence.

We welcome a prolific producer from Spain to The Poeticast this week, he goes by the alias of Chewy Martins.

Born on the tropical coast of Granada Jose Luis Martin (Chewy Martins), the Dj and producer began his career in the electronic scene.
Since a young age he was related to the world of DJs and electronic music, He started his first mixes with techno and break beat and now has his own productions encompassing Hardgroove techno.

Part of the event promoters of The Sound Beach Club where he is a regular but displaying the more forceful and current Tech-House style genre.

Chewy has played live at venues such as Penelope Lounge (Madrid), Sala Kalamazoo (Galicia) , La Zona (Vigo),
Summer Tech (Portugal) Sala Oxido (Guadalajara) Le club (Alcala de Henares).

He has featured on lineups with such artists as Chris Liberator, Omega Drive, Goncalo M, Pepo, Ruben Martinez, Hardell and more celebrated artists of the electronic scene.

In 2013 he created the seal Slippers Records. Slippers Records is a Spanish stamp in their genres mainly includes Tech-Tribal, Tech-House, Deep-Tech and House.

And in 2014 he created the label Psychodelik Records.
Psychodelik is a new techno label created by producer Chewy Martins a stamp for fans of techno and new techno promises.

Spanish Psychodelik Records is a label with a style that includes mainly techno and Hardtechno. The idea is to combine in their references to the new talents of the scene with other famous artists of the world scene.
