I would like to know who :dunce:

Don't get me wrong Foundation has a good system, but it is nothing compared with what Twilo sounded like..!

i think it was anthony pappa, quite a while back mind you
in the days when promise was a prog club, though i think he was comparing the dark feel to the club, and the smoky atmosphere, not the soundsystem

If you haven't been to sankey's - you've got to go, just to hear the sound :)

I went to tribal gathering for juski's birthday (when francois k was on), and half way through the night I thought "Hmm, this is a nice sound system. I like the bass!"

Then the bass came on full whack and the floor felt like it was moving under my feet

According to juski my face was an absolute picture. "Mr. Jaw meet's Mrs. Floor" is the only way to describe it :p

As for positioning of speakers - They must know what the crack is in there - it sounds class :)

I was there on saturday - its a class club. Really small and underground (you go in through a back alley and everything!). Upstairs is just a really small room which doesn't overlook the main room and doesn't have a DJ in it

Me and a mate were on about the system at Foundation the other day and we we're saying that we thought the bass was turned up too much. I'm not sure about at Promise but we've both said to each other that at Shindig the there never seemed to be enough mid range and far too much bass. I reckon thats one the main reason for me getting bored with the place, because it always sounds the same.

I remember someone saying on a different messageboard though that when Sasha played Shindig he messed around with the sound and had it sounding far beter.

One thing I've noticed is that when you first go into shindig they have the volume lower than at the end of night so you can talk to people easier. At Promise it always seems to be on full as soon as you go in.

whats the point in uping the volume??? Thats cheating! U play with the mixer to make ure tunes progress through the night, not the fucking volume controls!

Either have the volume controls on the mixer not on full at the start of the night and gradually increase them as the night goes on or I'm sure they can control the overall volume using the amp. Creates a better contrast rather than just being really loud all the way through

If they raise the volume as the night goes on it gives the appearance of the volume staying constant. This is because after a while u get used to the level of sound and it appears like its not loud anymore, hence the need to raise the volume. Just like when uve got ur walkman on and u keep having to turn it up to hear it when ur out and about.

u have a point, but it not that big an issue really IMO. As long as the music is playing and i'm happy then the louder the better!

Unless of course its distorted and sounds shit like all the boy racers in there bog standard 1.2 Novas will the original speakers and tape player in CRANKED up to the hilt blasting Ian van Dhal (only just being able to make it out) so of distorted! :)

Its better though when you can talk to people easier at the start then get more into the music later on.

The sound system is good in Foundation but sounds farty and distorted a lot of the time for some reason. When the levels are right its spot on.

Mauro ALWAYS tweaks it to perfection 4 seconds after taking to the decks in there..... its amazing to hear the change.
